The levelling up agenda creates both opportunities and challenges for city leaders across the UK: what is the role of our urban areas in reducing geographic inequality? How should they relate to the places around them? And what can they learn from each other?
On Tuesday 8th November, we partnered with Centre for London and CLES (National organisation for local Economies) and Centre for the New Midlands to host a panel discussion with city leaders from across the UK. We explored the challenges for each of their cities, how they are working with central government, and what they think we can do better to make levelling up a reality for the whole country.
This one-hour webinar took place on Zoom and here is the link to the recording of the discussion. Please note that this event was originally due to be held in September 2022 but was postponed due to the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
