Originally from the West Midlands, James has worked in housing for many years across a wide range of roles including operational housing, within the Affordable Housing Division at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and in policy and external affairs roles at the National Housing Federation and latterly the Chartered Institute of Housing where he was Executive Director of Policy, External Affairs & Communications.

James is also a Non-Executive Board Member at CHS, a developing housing association in Cambridge.

In addition to his job roles, James is a fully qualified housing professional having completed an MA in Social Housing at Birmingham City University.  In his spare time, James is a qualified football and cricket coach and is a captain and Chair of Youth Cricket at his beloved Ampthill Town Cricket Club.
