The Centre for the New Midlands and our members are doing what we can to help charities and community groups through this difficult period. Virgin Money’s Reimagining the Region network representative (and CNM People and Skills board member no less) Gareth Jones is running the London Marathon this year to give back to MacMillan Cancer Support for their incredible help during his cancer treatment.

We wanted to highlight Gareth’s efforts to support MacMillan but to also celebrate what we are doing to provide more of a voice to the third sector in these challenging times.

Launch of our Associate membership!

At the Centre for the New Midlands, we have recently launched a new initiative to further enhance the opportunities for charities and community groups to get involved with our work.  Here’s further information on the opportunity – which is available to our 11-50 and 51+ member organisations:

Invite a Charity partner/CIC to join Reimagining the Region – for free!

As the only non partisan, independent think tank for the West Midlands region, we have a burning desire to ensure that our work is inclusive as possible for people and organisations, from each and every part of the region, to get engaged with our work.  We have been working to find a way to bring a broader range of community voices into our work and with this in mind, we are trialling an ‘Associate Member’ scheme for our members to help us address this challenge and bring a broader range of perspectives and experience into our work.

Our ‘Associate Member’ initiative will provide our members with the opportunity to invite a charity/CIC that they may be affiliated with, support or admire to become an ‘Associate Member’ of our Reimagining the Region network.  This initiative is at no extra charge to our members or their nominated organisation – we believe that it is a really exciting opportunity to bring an even broader range of organisations to the table who make the West Midlands a better place to work, play, study and invest in.

Associate Members will be able to bring a delegate to events throughout the year, be involved in thought leadership and have a presence on our website.

To be eligible for Associate Membership, organisations will have to:

–              Be a registered charity/registered Community Interest Company

–              Be based in the West Midlands and not be a local branch of a national charity

–              Employ between 5-50 employees

–              Be nominated by an existing member of our Reimagining the Region network (11+ employees and above membership rates)

This is a fantastic opportunity for organisations who may typically  find paying an annual membership fee challenging.  To learn more about this opportunity and to nominate your Associate Member, contact Ashley de Sousa for full details: via ashley@thenewmidlands.org.uk
